How to Convert PDF to Word

Turn a PDF into an editable Word document with extracted text and page structure.

What PDF to Word conversion produces

The converter reads the text layer of each PDF page and builds a DOCX document with paragraph breaks and page structure. You can then edit, format, and reuse the text in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

PDF files that contain only scanned images do not have a text layer. Use OCR PDF first to extract the text, then convert the result to Word.

Conversion steps

Open PDF to Word and upload the PDF file.

Click Convert to Word. The browser extracts text page by page and generates a DOCX.

Download the DOCX and open it in your word processor to continue editing.

Layout expectations

Complex layouts with columns, tables, or precise design may need manual cleanup after conversion. Text content and reading order are preserved best in simple documents.
